Cocina Rusa (V). Syrniki – Russian Cuisine (V). Syrniki

IMG_2966The syrniki (that can be translated as “little cheese”) are a type of typical dessert from Russia and neighboring countries, made mainly from a type of cottage cheese, mixed with flour, sugar and eggs. It is shaped as small pancakes and then fried, being crispy on the exterior and creamy inside. They can be eaten alone, with Smetana, jam, honey or any other sweet paste you can imagine. One of my favorite desserts!
