Otra hija de Komsomolsk-na-Amure, Yuliya Chepalova nació el 23 de diciembre de 1976 y desde muy pequeña, dirigida por su madre, entrenadora de cross-country, empezó a esquiar a la vez que aprendía a andar. Su padre, Anatoly, la entrenó desde entonces y la hizo debutar en 1986.

Participante en 3 Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno cuenta en su palmarés con 3 medallas de oro, dos de plata y una de bronce en diferentes pruebas, así como 2 campeonatos del mundo, dos subcampeonatos y dos terceros puestos también en distintas pruebas. En Nagano 98 fue la mujer más joven en ganar la prueba de 30 km cross-country.

Desafortunadamente, dio positivo por EPO en 2009 y fue suspendida por dos años.

Her father, Anatoly, coached them since and made her debut in 1986.

She has participated in 3 Winter Olympic Games, and has 3 gold medals, 2 silver and 1 bronze in several sporting events, along with 2 world championships, 2 runner ups, and 2 bronze medals in many events. During Nagano 98 she was the youngest woman ever winning the 30 km cross-country.

Unfortunately, she was positive in an EPO test in 2009 and was suspended for two years.
