Haciendo la Compra (IX). Fruta Congelada – Doing the Shopping (IX). Frozen Fruit

IMAG5879One of the things that grasped my attention in Khabarovsk supermarkets is the large amount of frozen fruit on display. We talk basically about berries (blueberries, redcurrant, strawberries, etc.), but we can also find frozen tropical fruits, like mango or pineapple.

This was interesting to me because in Spain we always have a lot of fresh fruit and I have never seen frozen fruit (I admit it, I had never looked for it, though now I have seen in also in England), but I understand that in Khabarovsk, due to the prices of fresh fruit in general, frozen fruit is an interesting alternative for many people, as it is available during the cold season.

I guess it is just defrosted, or turned into juices, milkshakes or ice creams.
